Last week, Stanford announced it was pushing back its notification date to April 9th due to a notable increase in applications. This week, all eight Ivy League universities pushed back their notification date – until April 6 – to allow time to review the increased number of applications they’ve received.
In testing news, Cornell, Columbia, Penn, and Williams all announced that they’re extending their test-optional policies to next year (for Williams, it’s a two-year extension). Previously, Amherst, Colgate, College of Charleston, and Penn State all made similar announcements. Expect more to come…
In Covid-related college news, a recent survey finds that students are willing to get vaccinated and a majority of the students surveyed also believe that colleges have the right to require them to get vaccinated before coming back for in-person learning.
And in good news, the University of Chicago and Kenyon College are the recipients of major gifts. Chicago received funds for its social work program and Kenyon for its on-campus residential experience.
