This week in college admissions, Princeton announces its lowest admit rate in history, Brandeis gets a major donation from the owner of the New England Patriots, Dartmouth ranks the highest amongst Ivy League schools when it comes to free speech, and HBCUs see an increase in enrollment.
Princeton University saw its lowest acceptance rate in history for the class of 2030, with just over 4 percent of applicants admitted. This included 29 students who were offered admission from the waitlist.
Brandeis University received a $10M donation from New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft. The donation will go toward building The Robert K. Kraft Family Center for Jewish Life and Leadership.
Dartmouth College is the highest ranked Ivy League school in the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression’s Free Speech Rankings. This is in part due to Dartmouth Dialogues, a program that focuses on training students to engage in conversations around controversial topics.
Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) are reporting some of their highest enrollments in history; this is despite national trends showing enrollment declines and many US colleges and universities struggling financially.
