Northeastern University announced its merger with Marymount Manhattan College, a small liberal arts college in Manhattan. The merger marks the 14th member of Northeastern’s global campus, and the first in the New York area.
The Department of Education released a new report compiling the race, ethnicity and gender metrics of 3,890 colleges and universities in the U.S. The data is from the fall of 2022, the latest year for which statistics are available from the DOE.
A new study found that a majority of Asian Americans surveyed are in favor of the use of SAT scores in college admissions, but oppose the use of race and ethnicity as an admissions factor. The majority of respondents also opposed consideration of legacy status, parents’ education levels, or the ability to pay full tuition in college admissions.
Dr. Maurie McInnis has been named the first female president of Yale University. Currently the president of Long Island’s Stony Brook University, McInnis will succeed Peter Salovey, assuming her new role on July 1, 2024.
