Regular Decision Notification Dates – Class of 2025

Published on: March 16, 2021

You’ve put in so much work to get your college applications out in stellar shape, and now admissions officers across the country are working hard to get you their decisions.  With increases in applications for highly selective colleges this year, some of those admissions officers are working harder than ever, and some have had to delay their regular decision notification dates to review each application carefully.  We know you’re eager to get your results!

See the table below for a list of approximate notification dates so you can step away from your inbox and your online portals until it’s time for a decision.*  And check back for updates!

A special note on “Ivy Day”

Each year, the Ivy League colleges and universities (Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Penn, Princeton, and Yale) release their regular admissions decisions at the same time.  Typically, Ivy Day is sometime in late March, but with the increase in applications following test-optional policies, they have extended the deadline to allow time for proper review.  This year, Ivy Day is April 6th at 7pm ET.  They have also extended the deadline for admitted students to make their enrollment decisions to 11:59pm ET on May 3rd.

If you’ve applied regular decision to one of the Ivy League schools, you’ll probably want to login and see your results at 7pm on the dot.  And by all means, do!  Just understand that there will be a lot of site traffic to the online portals for these schools at that time, and historically, this has led to longer-than-usual loading times and even website crashes.  If this happens to you, and you can’t get your decision immediately, take a deep breath and consider stepping away for an hour or two to unwind and let the traffic clear out.

And as these decisions come out, don’t forget to use our tips for handling admissions decisions!  Good luck, seniors!
