This week, there was news around test-optional longevity, the AP exam schedule, and more.
A new report released from the ACT (of all places!) forecasts that a large majority of US colleges and universities will remain ACT/SAT-optional for the foreseeable future.
In other testing news, the College Board has released the schedule of AP Exams for later this spring.
Both Harvard and Yale are the recipients of large donations this week. Harvard will receive $150 million from Michael Bloomberg for the Bloomberg Center for Cities Program for Mayors. The program aims to help mayors around the world more successfully lead their cities by training them to better manage, innovate, and share best practices. FedEx announced a goal to be carbon neutral by 2040 and is donating $100 million to Yale University for research on carbon capture technologies.
And in feel-good news, teenagers across the country are volunteering to help seniors sign up for Covid vaccinations. They’re creating systems and websites and searching for appointments for people who have had trouble navigating the complicated process.
