The Trump administration has changed the rules for international students on F visas. Previously, F visas enabled students to stay in the US while completing their degree programs, no matter the duration. Now, F visas will uniformly expire after four years. The new ruling will make it much harder for international undergraduate students to seek extensions to their visas to accommodate leaves of absence.
Financial aid administrators note that AI-written appeals for aid create more problems rather than solve them. AI-written appeals have been found to be generic and lack the requested information, leading to congested communications across financial aid administrative offices.
Boston University has agreed to pay the city of Boston $104 million over the next five years. Some of this money will go toward scholarships for Boston public school students to attend BU.
