为什么面试?

面试通常对学生和大学都有好处。对于学生来说，面试是一个更好地了解学校、提出问题以及（在校友面试的情况下）了解学生在校园里的体验的机会。面试也是向大学表明你对他们是认真的一种很好的方式，这对于那些考虑对录取决定表现出兴趣的学校来说很重要。大学可以通过几种不同的方式使用面试，但它们通常分为两类：评估性和信息性。

评估性面试将作为申请的一部分进行审查。他们让学校更好地了解你的个性、兴趣和目标。这些面试有助于学校确定你是否适合他们的校园。虽然面试官通常不会对录取决定产生重大影响，但他们会与招生委员会分享他们的印象。请注意，如果需要面试，则可能是评估性的。

信息面谈是向学生提供有关该机构的更多信息的机会。这些面试几乎都是可选的，在某些情况下，学校甚至可能不称它们为“面试”。例如，一些大学会将它们描述为与招生官一对一的约会。虽然信息面试旨在回答学生的问题，但面试官仍然会对你形成印象。这种印象很可能会传递给招生委员会，所以一定要认真对待这些面试。

谁会面试我?

一些面试，特别是在校园里由招生人员进行的。根据学校或课程的不同，你可能会与现任教职员工或学生面谈。但是，大多数面试都是由学院或大学的校友进行的。校友遍布全国（或国际），因此学校可以通过调动校友网络，为更多地区的更多学生提供面试机会。对于需要或推荐面试的学校，很可能至少有一名面试官住在你所在的地区，并且能够安排面对面的面试。

如果碰巧住在没有面试官的地区，通常可以进行在线面试。由于疫情，许多大学已完全改用线上面试。线上面试与线下的面试是一样的。

如果你也无法进行虚拟面试，请不要惊慌。学院和大学不会因为这个惩罚你。

什么时候申请面试?

因为面试官通常比想要面试的学生少，所以尽早申请面试很重要。但是要知道“早”是什么意思可能会很棘手！学校对接受面试请求的时间和方式有很大不同的政策。有些人要求你在申请后安排面试，而另一些人则要求你在申请表上注明您是否需要面试。对于需要面试的学校，你可能会发现要求面试的截止日期实际上早于申请截止日期。在你申请的每所学校查看具体的指导方针是至关重要的。首先检查大学网站，但如果您在查找所需信息时遇到困难，请联系招生办公室。
