Dear Colleagues,
We are informing a set of international test takers that we put on hold or cancelled their October SAT scores. Because of the illegal theft of material from the SAT, which was administered internationally earlier this month, we were forced to cancel or hold a significant number of scores for students who tested, primarily in Egypt and Hong Kong. Scores that have been placed on hold for review and cleared will be released in approximately two weeks. We’re aware of the difficult timing of these score cancellations and holds, as you approach early decision admissions deadlines. We’re doing all we can to determine the validity of scores as quickly as possible.

官方给出的理由是，由于考题遭非法泄露，香港和埃及考场的大量成绩将被取消或被审查。被审查的成绩将会延迟发布，大约两周后会有结果。College Board明确的表示成绩被审查或取消的原因是考题泄露，可以判断其手中应掌握了一定证据。
对于计划申请提前批次录取的学生来说，这无疑是一个打击。无论成绩是否被取消，即使两周后拿到成绩，也极有可能赶不上提前批次申请的截止日期。
在这里，建议学生们不要过度担忧。可以照原计划申请提前批次的学校，并向所申请大学说明SAT成绩的情况，等出分时再补交。或之前有可用成绩的话，也可以先提交之前的成绩。之前成绩不甚理想的学生，建议报名12月或明年的SAT考试，并开始积极为常规批次申请做准备。
